    Unhappy Structured Reference

    Hello All,

I am new here, so my apologies if I am breaking any forum rules. I have a specific question in regards to the structured reference. I am research assistant working on a research project. Unfortunately I have hit a snag in the project. I am hoping that one of the astute members here will be able to help me out.

Please see picture attached: I have an empty column titled Campus_Address. Column titled Area_Code has a structured reference formula. I need to to do this:

    Campus_Address

School of Economics and Social Studies on Kent Blvd.

I want excel to find the respective area code and automatically populate it with information as described above.

My problem is that I can't get the structured reference to work.

When I click enter equal sign in cell B2 and click on cell A2, I get =[@[Area_Code]].

I have tried everything but I can't get excel to automatically fill the entire column with the appropriate area code and information.

    PLEASE HELP!

NOTE: FOR PRIVACY REASONS I CAN ONLY SHOW AREA_CODE SECTION OF THE TABLE.

    Re: Structured Reference

Assuming your table to the right is called "Table1" then this should work. Assuming that this is what you want to do anyway.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

If you click somewhere in the right table, then click on the Table Tools, Design tab on the top of the screen, you can see the name of your table (and change it) to the far left.
<----- If you were helped by my posts you can say "Thank you" by clicking the star symbol down to the left

    Hello,

Thank you so much for replying. Really appreciate it. Table to the right is actually called Table 4. But I believe the same methodology will apply as the one you mentioned above. Correct?

Yes, just change the name in the formula. Trying and testing is how you learn.
