Need a Formula to Detect Duplicate Numerical Entries and Highlight Them

I have a spreadsheet in which column A is made up of 5 digit numbers. I need a formula which will alert me if I enter a number which has been entered previously, possibly by highlighting both entries separate colors if that is possible... I.E. original entry would be red and duplicate entry blue. Entries start in column A row 2.
