IF Blank or If not blank function that works with an adjacent cell with a formula in it?

    Hello group -
I have one column that contains an If statement formula and would like the next column to then work off of the first column (i.e. if that 1st column returns a value then then adjacent column uses that result).

What is happening now is that it is returning #value (because I guess technically the cell isn't blank?)

    Anyone have a workaround?
    Thanks

Hard to say without seeing your worksheet or your formulas. Taking out my crystal ball.......

Try =IF(A2<>"", Result you want, "")
    ChemistB
    My 2?

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires

    Can you post the formula?

    First Cell:
    =IF(N20>0,N20/$B$3," ")

    Adjacent cell
    =IF(ISBLANK(L20)," ",M19+L20)

Re: IF Blank or If not blank function that works with an adjacent cell with a formula in i

Assuming the first cell is L20, then it is not blank.
Even "" is not considered a blank and " " is even less of a blank (if that's possible) because it's a space.

    I suggest, first cell

    =IF(N20>0,N20/$B$3,"")

    second cell

    =IF(L20<>"",M19+L20,"")
