Is there a way to expand grouped column and rows when....

Is there a way to expand grouped column and rows when I am using a formula that links to another sheet where i have grouped rows and columns. For example, if i am using a formula in sheet 1 that uses some values of sheet 2 is there a way to expand grouped rows and columns from sheet 2 when i select the sheet while making the formula?
I have certain variables that are grouped but sometimes i need them to use them but when i am linking the sheet they are still grouped and thus i have to delete the formula to ungroup them and do it over. There must be a better way
