    Disabling the insert row function

I want to disable users to be able to insert new rows in-between the rows which already have information.
They should be able to edit the information in the existing rows and also if required be able to add more information in the last row, but should not be able to add new row in-between.

I tried the protect worksheet function but that locks all the cells and you are not able to edit the existing information also.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

    A trick here would be:-

go to last row by pressing CTRL DownArrow, select entire row and add some dummy character like , or ` or anything, and just hide that last row...

FYI, before you protect the spreadsheet, select the data range where you want to allow people to input data, i.e. A2:G500, right click>Format cells>Protection tab and uncheck "Locked" Then save the workbook. People will be able to enter data but not insert rows or columns.
