I've research the web and the post that I find is not quite similar to what I need or sometimes i just can't make it work. So here it goes..

When I specify the name and the date it should be able to identify the year. So, for example... Program01 and the date is 02/01/2012 the result should be 2011.

See attached. The two yellow boxes is where you input the data you want to call, and the result shows in cell C26.

Thank you mcmahobt! I am hoping this could be done not using an array formula. The reason is I have to put it in VBA.
As far as I know, no...this cannot be done without an array (or using filters) since your data spans columns and rows. I'm sure there is an Excel expert out there that probably knows a workaround, however.
