Unhappy Require a formula to count the digits & Output as percentage

    Hi,

    I'm trying to get a count of common digit like (1234-2345-2789-1289-2548) = 2 100% 4 50% 8 50% 3 20%.

    (02346789 02345789 02346789 03456789 02345789 )= 0 100% 3 100% 4 100% 7 100% 8 100% 9 100% 2 80% 6 60%

    Please help

Re: Require a formula to count the digits & Output as percentage

    Hi.

In the example you gave in your first post the numbers were separated by dashes (-), but in the other two examples they are separated by spaces.

Are there any other possible delimiters apart from these two which need to be considered?

Also, can a string have a mixture of two or more different delimiters? For example, is this a possibility:

    02346789-02345789 02346789-03456789 02345789

or is the delimiter always the same in a given string?

I do not think that you can have looked closely at the suggestion I made. I adjusted some of the source numbers to test the formula. With the source cells pre-formatted as text, it works perfectly - so far as I can see. However, if you had intended that the whole string should have been in ONE cell, not several, please let me know. It was not at all clear from your original post.
