Simple IF formula.
This is what I'm working with:
=IF(A8=B1,B2)+IF(A8=C1,C2)+IF(A8=D1,D2)
If the value in A8 is not equal to any part of the formula, I want to return the word "ERROR".
It will not let me use an array such as =IF(A8=B1:D1,B2:D2,"ERROR") and any way I've tried has returned a #VALUE.
Is there another route to take or some way to work around this?

Yes, the first one works perfectly.
Is there a way for the cell with formula to remain blank if the cell referenced (A8) is blank?
