    How to enter formula from one sheet to another automatically

    is there a formula to count data from one sheet to another? if i have several purchase orders going to different branches on sheet 1 and on sheet 2 i need them to be auto sum by branch by date... is there a way to connect it to where it will plug in that count when it is entered? thank you for ANY help or suggestions!


    I just got a new job and took on this new project for my boss and not sure of my self and need some tips!

    Look into the COUNTIF or COUNTIFS functions. All you'll need to do is reference the first sheet if trying to count data. If you could provide some information on how your data is setup, or a sample workbook, more help could be given.

    Can you just attach an excel workbook instead of a word document? It's just as easy, click Go Advanced --> Manage Attachments to upload.

    here is a better example. they are on two completely seperate sheet but i can combine them to the same spreedsheet i just need an educated jump start lol
    he is wantinig to review the different warehouses purchase orders with discrepancies from a weekly and monthy point but the information come from the first list.

    I'm not quite sure I'm following the logic of your workbook...what is the difference between a plant and a branch? What is Branch 0? What is the relevant data for Beginning, New, and Resolved?

    Sorry for my late response. I was able to get a workbook together and working for a monthly count of your data, but am not sure how you want your weekly data to be setup (since it would span many weeks vs. months). Take a look at the attached workbook - I edited a lot of the formatting for simplicity's sake, but you can reformat as appropriate.
