Excel formula to calculate the difference of 2 values in hours

I'm ready head bang my desk. heres the problem.

I cannot remember what I did but I have 2 Values for example They Both Can Exist in Column A rows 1 & 2 For Example

Jan 11 02:15:00 2014
Jan 13 04:15:00 2014

I was originally using a formula for =DAY(A2-A1)*24(A2-A1)

To Find The Difference in Hours Between the two but I cant think and have been on it for over 8 hours, ugh.
