I have a large file /size more than 4mb/ which has more than 300 sheets. There are simple links from sheet to sheet, which refer to a cell from anther sheetand they doesn't work. You have to enter to the forumla bar of the cell and press enter and only after that it returns the correct value.
I have already checked in theFormulas in the "Options",it's not manual, it's automatic.
Sounds like you have the format set to text?

Is it possible that it doesn't work properly because of tis larrge size or the large number of the sheets?
I did mean to ask why you have so many sheets, but got side-tracked and forgot
The formats are correct
The large number of the sheets just refers to the number of clients
Probably too late to do anything here, but excel works best when all data is on 1 "data" sheet, and then additional sheets are used to extract/analyse/summarise data.
What format are they set to?
