Formala to take names from one sheet to another whilt dropping duplicates

HI , HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP WITH THIS ONE?

ATTACHED IS A SAMPLE WORKBOOK WITH TWO SHEETS. tHE ACTUAL WORKBOOK HAS MULTIPLE SHEET ALL LINKED TO THE DATA ENTRY SHEET, SO THE FORMAT AND LAYOUT OF THE DATA ENTRY SHEET CANNOT BE CHANGED.

THAT BEING SAID...... I NEED ALL THE ITEM NAMES ENTERED INTO THE DATA ENTRY SHEET TO SHOW UNDER THE SPECIFIC CATAGORY NAME IN THE INVENTORY SHEET WITH NO DUPLICATES SHOWING.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

Yes, but. I don't think that it'll work with the volume of stuff that you have got to process. We'll see. The new formulae on the inventory sheet are Array Formulas and must be confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer. Press F2 on that cell and try again. The formulas on the helpers sheet are conventional formulas and shouldn't cause a problem.

Check it over BEFORE you attempt to move htis onto your real sheet. Adjust the ranges as needed.

    Hi

in the example workbook the data goes to column "z" only.
How would i change the formulas to search to column "aaa" or further?

It's unlikely to be really viable with a formula approach. It'd be a massively unwieldy beast. My suggestion is that you close this thread and open a new thread in the VBA forum, but explaining the VERY long rows that you have more clearly right from the outset.

    Thanks glenn

that's what i feared, the workbook will eventually have multiple users and then the whole explination of how to enable macro's to everyone ensues , but beggers can't be choosers.

    Thanks for all your help.
