    Red face FORMULA NEEDED: If a cell = certain criteria a consecutive number will be produced

    Looking for a formula to put in Column A which will give me a consequtive number sequence (starting from 1) if Column D equals "On-site".

    If column D equals "RR" I need Column A to be either blank or 0.

    I have tried =IF(D9="On-site", A9+1, 0) but it will not work if the cell above is 0. Thinking I will need to incorporate MAX+1?

    I have inserted the numbers in Column A which I want the forumla to generate.
