Formula for percentage Increase and corresponding percentage decrease (and viceversa)

Hello,

Looking for a formula that would do the following:

I have two percentages. I would like the percentages to talk to one another. E.G. An increase in one percentage would result in a proportional decrease in the other percentage.

E.G. One percentage is 10%. If it increases to 15%, then the corresponding category should decrease from its current level of 10%, to 5%.

Thanks!

Please upload a sample of your workbook to the forum, Make sure you have removed any private information, remember this is a public forum and so available to anyone
Would like to see an example of your data and also a manual mock up of the expected results you want to achieve.

To attach a file to your post,
click "Go advanced" (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage Attachments",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

To do this, you probably need to put 1 of those values in its own cell, then use formulas to calc the 2 values you want....

A
B
C
1
10%
10.0%
10.0%

A1 = the % that will change
B1=0.2-A1
C1=0.2-B1
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
