d:hh:mm to displays over 31 days like [hh]:mm displays over 24 hours.

I am wanting to subtract two dates and times and have them display as d:hh:mm. However, excel "rolls over" the days once it goes beyond 31 as shown below. I am also wanting to use this d:hh:mm for numerical calculations.

    2.17.15 12:00
    1.17.15 6:00
    31:06:00 - d:hh:mm
    31.25

    2.17.15 12:00
    1.16.15 6:00
    01:06:00 - d:hh:mm
    32.25

    Thanks

May be a bit more "natural language":

MOD(A1,1) returns just "hour portion" of date so one is substarczted from datedif if the hour of finish is before hour of start
