Why does my custom excel formula [RED]#,###;"-" not give me a dash (minus sign) in the blank field? If there is a negative number it puts it in the cell in red. If the field is 0 it does not put in a -. Thank you.

the number format you posted, for me at least does this.
Positive: value in Red
Negative: no value only - (dash) in cell font colour
Zero: nothing shown
Text: value in cell font colour
Blank: nothing shown
Thanks. But, I do need to show a - in the 0 or blank field.
you can show anything for a blank field.
#,###;[RED]#,###;"-"
format postive, format negative in red, format zero as '-'
Thanks for your help!
