Lightbulb Pivot table grouped data: Conditional formatting, sorting and selective subtracting

    Hi Guys

I am trying to apply conditional formatting to a pivot table with grouped data.

    Rules:

    > I want to highlight the smallest points in each group which have a volume below the average. For example, Mike in Group A has the lowest average point and his average volume is below Group A's average volume. Therefore I would like Mike to be highlighted.
    >I want a way of displaying the difference between the highest and lowest points in each respective group. So for example in Group A i want to see the difference between Mike and Tom's points in % since they are the highest and lowest. In addition i want a flexible way of adjusting the acceptable % to display. For example i may only want to see point differences with a 30% gap/difference.

    Many thanks

    Re: Challenging Pivot table

A sample of your data would be helpful for us to better understand your requirement. From reading it, I can suggest adding a helper column (say if you want Mike to be highlighted, write a formula that will maybe give Mike 1 and all others a higher number, then you can say highlight all 1s).

I can help with the formula, but I need to see the data as I am a visual person.

Come to think about it, depending on how your data is structured and if normalized, a PIVOT could do you wonders.
