Match information from one sheet to another

I am trying to do a simple reservation sheet where if the name is selected on the 'calendar' sheet in cell B1, and a room is chosen in cell C1.. then the 'reservation' sheet will read in cell column C the same information that is in sheet calendar cell C1 according to the persons name ... otherwise i would like it to read whatever the information entered on the reservation sheet is.

    Is this possible???

    Thank You

Re: COMPLEX index match function i was told is impossible to work

    Thanks for the title change

Im a little confused about what you want here?

Are you pulling from Reservation INTO Calendar?
You have Dan's name in Calendar B1 and room 3 in C1, but Dan did not use room 3, he used room 8? Room 3 was used by Mark and Joe.

Perhaps explain in a bit more detail, so we can understand your requirements better

A few adjustments. Don't use full columns, it takes forever to calculate.

Re: Match information from one sheet to another

Right Dan is in Room 8. But looking at the calender, I would like to move him to room 3. So i would like to change his room fromthe calendar sheet and have the reservation sheet match that room... Thus what I would like to do .. if I selelect any name on he calender sheet and select a room for them on the calender sheet I would like THAT room to be entered in the originally reservation sheet. (IF no room is selected then i would like it to just be what the reservation sheet says it is.)

Does that make things more clear?
