    Changed Saver to Savings in Sum Formula, now does not calculate.

    I have the cells set up with this formula, and it works ok:

    SUMPRODUCT(--(Jul!D2:D151="Saver"),SIGN((Jul!F2:F151<>"")+(Jul!G2:G151<>"")))

    I now have to change the word "Saver" to "Savings"
    I have changed the drop down list in Jul! to Savings and `Savings` is entered in the correct cell

    I am backspacing Saver and retyping Savings and I have tried dragging from the cell above and changing the necessary parts but the formula refuses to work. No error message just the formula as typed in the cell.

    Is / should this formula be entered in a certain way or can anyone spot a mistake?

    Re: Unexpected formula issue

    Select a blank cell
    Enter =(A1="Savings")
    where A1 is the "correct cell" as referred to in the above, ie where the drop down list stores your selection.

    This should result in TRUE, if it's FALSE then that's why your SUMPRODUCT no longer works.

    If it says false post the spreadsheet so we can check why it's not working, remove any sensitive data.

    Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    Re: Changed Saver to Savings in Sum Formula, now does not calculate.

    It would appear that if I put the original formula in to a text box then make the changes to the formula that are required and paste back in to the cell then that works. So this gives me a solution.

    Can anyone offer an explanation why it does not allow me to change one word in the cell but allows it to be changed in the text box?
