I know little about excel and am using it for a project for my practimum. I have a full row of dates in this format 13-Jul-17, and I want them all to go to the format 20130717. Can I do this swiftly?

Are the dates dates, or text that looks like a date? What is the cell formatting? Date or general or something else? What happens when you change the formatting to number?

I think they are dates. I'm sorry but i'm fairly noob to excel.
The row says
14-Jul-13
and the upper box for working in it says
7/14/2013
