    Week Numbering

    Hi Folks,

I am new into excel and I have a noobish question.
I am not able to get the week numbering done.

Please check the image to get a detailed info.

I want the week numbering done in formula without having to write it manually.

Any leads will be really helpful.

    Thank you,
    Anand

    Re: Week Numbering

    Hi PMJohnTopley,

Sorry for being a little confusing.

As far as I know WEEKNUM will display week number from 1 to 53.

Is there any way to make the first date of my list as week1.

    Ex.

    17-05-2015 = Week 1
    21-05-2015 = Week 2
    29-05-2015 = Week 3

    Thanks

    Re: Week Numbering

    Hi,

I"m thinking of using something like
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    ="Week "&WEEKNUM(F10,2)

    Cheers,

    Re: Week Numbering

Try this. In B2, then drag across.
    ="Week "&MAX(SUMPRODUCT(--(WEEKDAY($B$2:B$2,1)=2))+1,1)

    Re: Week Numbering

    In B1...
    ="Week "&WEEKNUM(B3)-WEEKNUM($B$3)+1
You can copy across... but if you have uneven merged cells going across, you will have to Copy and Paste Formulas.

PS: It'll work up to the point where the calendar year changes....

    PPS: Fiscal year solution...
    ="WEEK "&WEEKNUM(B3-$B$3+WEEKDAY($B$3))
Note end of and beginning of next fiscal year will be indicated as "Week 53" unless the calendar week transition is identical to fiscal week end/begin (I think).
