    Number Format Coding, to make coloured circle appear depending on the result of a formula

    Hi I've been trying to use Conditional Formatting and Number Format Coding to make a indicator circle change colour depending on the result of a formula. I was hoping that I could edit the following "[Color10][>=13]\Å;[Color45][>=10]\Å;[Red]\Å;[Color1]\Å" in the following way "[Color10][A9>=D9]\Å;[Red][A9<=D9]\Å" used within Number Format Coding would work, but it doesn't I only get one colour circle, it never changes. example.xlsx.

    On the attached example, D7 is the cell where the green/red circle should be, which is dependant on whether A9 is greater or smaller than D9, green for greater, and red for smaller.

    All help will be greatly appreciated.

    Select D7

    Conditional Formatting
    New Rule
    Use a formula to determine...
    2 Rules

    =(A9<D9)
    format as red

    =(A9>=D9)
    format as green

    Use Format painter (paintbrush icon) to copy to other cells

    Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    Hi Special-K thank you for taking the time to help me. Your solution has made me feel quite stupid, it looks so easy and straightforward.

    I really appreciate your assistance, I'm going to make a special note in my black book so I remember how to do this.

    Many thanks Emma
