Sumif of a range i.e between account codes 100 - 500 for a Fiscal Year and Period

I am looking to use the sumif function to sum the values of the codes between a specific full range for a specific period of time.

I have simplified this example, but the information comes from account code structure. Example: 400000 - 418399 Sal and Wages

I have a list of codes column A, and a list of values column B, Fiscal year charges occurred Column C and Period Column D when charges occurred:

418420 $ 9.74 2013 3
418421 $ 0.18 2014 8
418422 $ 0.58 2014 5
418423 $ 0.53 2013 4
418430 $ 11.88 2015 12
418433 $ 19.57 2014 3
418434 $ 2.78 2013 7

everything is over 418399?

That was just an example of a range. I should have given this range: 418400 - 420499 - Fac FT Ben

i don't know how defined you want it but using sumifs as a guide

The issue I am having is that there are so many account codes for one category (ex: Benefits) and a cell will only allow
you to enter so may equations. I have hit this limit for benefits and need to find another solution.

Attached is my spreadsheet so you can see what I am trying to accomplish.

im assuming your account codes go under a range
ie 418400 - 420499 - Fac FT Ben is under fringe

if so you can just do >= 418400 and <= 420499

i inserted two rows to highlight
