    SUMIFS Referencing dropdown boxes

    Hello hello,

A lowly summer intern, here. I am trying to do a sumifs formula and referencing the IFs that are chosen from a drop box data validation method. I keep getting 0 as the result of my function which I've listed here:

    =SUMIFS('Master Staffing'!G6:G500,'Master Staffing'!E6:E500,"Operations Management",'Master Staffing'!F6:F500,"Air Ops",'Master Staffing'!C6:C500,"FTE")

where the words in quotations each represent one of six choices in the drop down box in those cell ranges that feed into the chart I need to summarize the validated master staffing schedule. Is my issue a need for a concatenate that I didn't place right when I attempted it? I think I could work through most of of the other requirements I need to include in my formula if I could get this core down.

All help is very much appreciated!

No reason why it shouldn't work. Probably need to see some sample data. Check for leading and/or trailing spaces in the lookup value and in the search table. Also check that the "numbers" that you are trying to SUM are truly numeric and not text values that look like numbers.

    Thanks for the responses.

There is definitely data with those requirements and I have the column listed as numbers.

    Re: SUMIFS Referencing dropdown boxes

    UPDATE:

I had a space in the back end of Air Ops in my list I referenced for the drop down list. After deleting it, my functioned worked fine.

    These Interns...

Thanks for taking the time help!

You're welcome. Thanks for the rep.

Great when a guess works out Note that, though a picture paints a thousand words, a sample workbook speaks volumes
