Not sure if this is possible but I wanted to know if there is a way that when you enter a value in a cell, another cell would reference a table somehow to come up with a value.
My scenario is that we are measuring a value but then have to convert it using a chart. I plugged all the numbers of the chart into Excel and graphed the data to come up with a trendline equation thinking this would be an easy solution but the data does not follow a straight line. The data series curves making the equation solution not possible.
There are roughly 900 datapoints in the chart which I have divided into two columns. Column 1 shows the measured value and column 2 shows the converted value. Is there a way to have it so if I enter the measured value that it populates another cell with the converted value? I guess I could do this with an if/then formula but not sure how simplify it for so many data points. I have actually never done an if/then formula in Excel before but saw some examples online.
Thanks
