    Conditional Formatting

Is it possible to do a conditional format for:

If the value of Cell A2 is Greater Than A1 then format A2 with a Red pattern

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Yes you can use conditional formatting for that, just use one of the selections available under conditional formatting selection.

What version of Excel are you using? Your profile says Excel 97. Is that correct?

    Re: Conditional Formatting

    Try this...

    Select cell A2

    Goto the menu Format>Conditional Formatting

    Select the Formula Is option

Enter this formula in the box on the right:

    =AND(COUNT(A1:A2)=2,A2>A1)

    Click the Format button
    Select the Patterns tab
    Select the desired fill color
    OK out
