Using VLOOKUP to return minimum value associated with an item

    hello friends.

I am needing to find the lowest price associated with an item number in a sheet that has multiple prices associated with each number. Is there a way i can use vlookup or another like formula to populate a field with the lowest value associated with that part number? Sorry it's a bit hard to explain, but any help would be appreciated

Difficult to be certain since we can't see the layout you are using and your precise data, but in general with item numbers in say A1:A10 and associated prices in B1:B10 then as an array formula, i.e. entered with Ctrl Shift Enter

    Formula: copy to clipboard

I just put a similar answer in this link http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...26#post4146126
It was to find a min date based on another value, this was his formula ...
=MIN(IF(A2:A5=1;B2:B5;"")) perhaps you can adapt it to your situation, just remember it is an array formula so to activate it you have to press ctrl, shift enter when you've adjusted the range.
