use source formatting in an index match

Hi,

I have this formula that people of this forum have generously helped me get correct. i'm wondering if there is a way to make the formula use the source formatting when it returns the data? so that my text comes out in the same style of the source cells?

Formula: copy to clipboard

No, sorry, formulas deal with data, formatting is cosmetic, not data. Cant you just format the destination cell normally/manually? Or perhaps consider Conditional Formatting? What is the format, can it c=hange?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Hi,
thanks for the help.
i think that as there is a random number of cels being returned each time conditional formatting might be the way to go, so I'm guessing that what conditional formatting means is that i can group select all the cells in the sheet and apply formatting that says something like "if the cell contains any of these 3 or 4 words use larger bold font" this would create sort of headings that stand out for the different types of data sets.
