    Lightbulb HELP on INDEX(MATCH) or SUGGESTIONS

    Hi all

    Im up for a project in our kindergarten where we try to merge some happening between several kindergarten around us. so we could socialize and bring the kids together! now i tried to merge 2 lists of 2 different kindergarten and their informations. however, i dont get it. i've read so much about index match but now im not sure if its the best way... as i would have to merge those lists (sheet 1 and 2 into a third sheet) we have informations on sheet 2 which are missing or would have to be populated on sheet 1. there are only a few informations which can be "identifier". Im completely lost as i havent thouhgt it would be taff to do it... but any manual i read wasnt clear enough for me i hope to find some good and easy solutions on here! thanks already for any support and find attached the spreadsheet we have created. i would really really happy to see all the possible ways to do it!

    many thanks to all and kind regards
    karlo

    Main Question and idea behind is following:

    We have one static sheet (input FITZ) which needs to be compared with the first sheet (input GAM). On "input GAM" we miss data which we can find in "input FITZ" - and we have also like 3 or 4 values that should match exactly and therefore also used as identifier. Is it possible to match/compare those sheets and to fill up all the missing data we are looking for? if so, how? im really into it and tried several ways to do so, but i stock in thought... as we can get the "input GAM" in different formats and also with more or less columns. The only thing is that there will be always columns with the same informations but probably in an other order. i think that the final output wouldnt be an issue if i get the point of comparing and matching the sheets. Also what i've included in below formulas was an iferror - which would make sense if like 3 of 4 identifier match and only one is not correct.

    Please any help on that!

    ADD I:

    I tried several formulas and ways to do it, but im worried if I made a mistake and if its going to work properly.

    i wrote following formula - {=INDEX('input FITZ'!$A:$A,MATCH(1,('input FITZ'!$D:$D='input GAM'!L10)*('input FITZ'!$F:$F='input GAM'!F10)*('input FITZ'!$M:$M='input GAM'!O10),0),0)}

    and what i dont get is, does it really will do what im looking for as i fix the cells in "input GAM". But what if i have to populate datas in that sheet with datas from "input FITZ"????

    REALLY appreciated all comments and help on that!

    ADD II:

    added iferror to the formula

    =IFERROR(INDEX('input FITZ'!$A:$A,MATCH(1,('input FITZ'!$D:$D='input GAM'!L2)*('input FITZ'!$F:$F='input GAM'!F2)*('input FITZ'!$M:$M='input GAM'!O2),0)),"NOT FOUND")

    But once more. I don't get the match function in there... ('input FITZ'!$D:$D='input GAM'!L2)

    What if i just want that it searches trough the whole array in "input GAM" and not on a specific column?

    and as im looking for like 6 values which needs to be populated - and what if i want that the formula does match all and if (a.E.) 5 of 6 are correct, only the 6th shows as "ERROR" is there a way to do that??

    Any HELP and SUGGESTION appreciated!!!!!!!
