Drop down list of named ranges multiplied by a cell...

I have renamed the cells (as a range) in pink to the corresponding names above indicating various abbreviations for the lifts.

what I want to do is have the named ranges (that are in pink) as options in the orange drop down menus.

I would like to have that value (the pink value) multiplied by the yellow percentages to equal a given weight for that lift.

that way if I change the lift (in orange) it automatically selects the correct cell in pink to multiply against the percentage( in yellow)

right now I have them manually typed in so if I change squat in the orange box to bench it is still taking a percentage of the pink cell that is the squat max. I would have to manually change many cells if I wanted a new lift in there.

Secondary problem: when i originally named the cells for the training maxes (the pink cells) i used abbreviations. Now I want to rename those cells with the full lift name since it will be visible to the athletes and coming from that orange drop down box. I type in the new name and hit return yet when I go back to that cell it is still named with the abbreviation. Is it possible to make this adjustment?

The formula in the green box i have been trying for is =a8*c9 and Ive also tries with sum(a8) and range(a8) and all of those with the cash $ signs in place. I think it is not recognizing the word in the drop down as a range.

Thanks for the view and the help

thank you. Simple answers are the best!

it didnt work when I copied and pasted into 2nd and third columns but it is easy enough to manually put it in.

    thanks a ton!
