    Index & Match help required

I have a Workbook which I have copied part of (attached) which manipulates English Premiership football results. I currently input the results manually each week, but download results from a soccer site (PremResults), and wish to add them automatically. I know it can be done with INDEX & MATCH but have tried numerous variations but am getting more confused with each failure. Help please experts.

Re: Index & Match help required

My advice is don't bother with a table built from Index/Match because setting it up is harder than the alternative:

Throwing the data into a Pivot Table. (See Attached).

You can run the PT off an external data connection too, so updating the table becomes automatic.

    INDEX/MATCH ...

    =IFERROR(INDEX(PremResults!$E$3:$E$142,MATCH(1,($C5=PremResults!$C$3:$C$142)*(G$4=PremResults!$D$3:$D$142),0)),"") home tean

    =IFERROR(INDEX(PremResults!$F$3:$F$142,MATCH(1,($C5=PremResults!$C$3:$C$142)*(G$4=PremResults!$D$3:$D$142),0)),"") away team
