    Solve add-in

    Hello,
I have a technical question regarding the “Solver” add in Excel.
After the “Set Objective” is selected (as a cell), the following line asks for “To:”. It gives options of “Max", “Min” and "Value of”. When typing a specific number it perfectly works. However, I would like to solve for a value that is specified in a worksheet-cell, therefore, type something like: “D32” but that doesn´t work, even though in that cell there is the same value that I typed in before.
Is there any way to type a cell instead of a direct value for “To:”? Or maybe a range? Or a value + a standard deviation?
The thing is that I am using @risk in order to account for uncertainty (MonteCarlo) and most of the variables involved in the formulas are distributions.I want excel to solve for one of the variables but as a Probability Density Function output.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Re: Solve add-in

I tend to add a helper cell with a formula like =(current set target cell)-(cell containing the desired target value). Then, use this helper cell as the new Set Target Cell, and set it to a value of 0.
