    Formula Required.

    Hi there,

    I hope someone can help me with what I am sure is quite a simple fomula for the more adavnced users on this forum.

    I have 2 tables (attached)

    I want a formula that looks at the dates and resources in table 1, then totals the requirements by day in table 2 (the yellow shaed cells).

    I hope this makes sense (and the attachement can be opened?) and I hope someone can help me?

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Re: Formula Required.

    It would help if you manually enter your desired results in the table filled yellow, and explain how you achieved those results.

    The date ranges in B3:C6 overlap each other.
    Example, take date 1/6/2016
    Should that apply to Job 2 or Job 3 ?

    Try this in B9 and filled down/right

    =SUMIFS(D$3:D$6,$B$3:$B$6,"<="&$A9,$C$3:$C$6,">="&$A9)

    crosspost http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-q...-required.html

    Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

    Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

    Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

    Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).
