Depenedent dropdown list to work even if source data is unsorted

    Hello,
In this example workbook MainWkbk.xlsx i have a dropdown list dependent on another dropdown list with this formula situated in a defined name as "List":

The data validation dropdown list refers to the name "List".
Problem i am having is that if the source range is sorted by column "B" instead of column "A" in sheet1 then the 2nd dropdown menu displays mostly irrelevant info?
Is there any way around this?
I greatly will appreciate any and all responses.
    Thanks in advance!

When you sort the data on sheet1, sort by both column A AND column B. This keeps column A grouped the way is needed for your dependent drop downs, but then the secondary list itself will be alphabetized within that group.

Thanks but I have another dropdown based off the same source data which ideally i would like to be in alphabetical order by column B.
