Picking a number from an array

Hi ...
First attempt on this forum.
Hope it's the right section.

I have this array of 8 columns and 8 rows down.
And I have a column with number to look for in the array.
I have found out how to get the row number of a peculiar number, using the INDEX(MATCH)), but ...
Some times there is multippel occasion of the same number in the array. If so I want to pick the position of left most of those number, AND if there is, let's say three of them, not report the two earlier reported positions.

I will return in a few hours with the spreadsheet in question.

I am self taught when it comes to Excel, but no VBA programmer. Mostly a copy and paste guy.
