Subtracting amounts from one column from single amount

Hi everyone,

I was just hoping to find a more simple way of creating my spreadsheet rather than having to type the formula for each cell.

This is a budget spreadsheet where I want to subtract each new amount from a total of $1,200. As it is right now, I made the first cell =1200-D5, followed by =E5-D6, =E6-D7, etc in each cell.. How can I make a formula where it will automatically fill each following cell in the E column with the next corresponding formula?

The Easiest way is by filling.

The quickest way to fill is the move the curser of the source cell into the bottom right hand corner then hold the mouse and drag down or across to the final, this will fill with the next cell reference relative to it's current position (down will the next number in the sequence, right will be the next letter).

Start the fill from the Second cell other wise you will always be subtracting the 1200 from the next cell in sequence. (I'm assuming the E5 is the cell containing =1200-D5)
