So the box in sheet VALID never changes, but the words does.
I need the cell-color to format after the list in sheet DATA. The problem is the list in DATA keeps growing, as I add new items?
Is there anyway to solve this?

What is your CF criteria?

Condition is, if the word is in the list - the cell gets the corresponding color.
You mean CF of C2 in sheet data?
=COUNTIF(VALID!C:C,C2)>0
Like this:

The problem is, I keep adding word in sheet DATA
