Shifting cell values based on date

I have 3 columns of cells that are conditionally formatted. They are aligned with different headings that correspond to the weekending date who get their values from variations of =today(). My question is if there is a formula that will automatically shift the values of the conditionally formatted cells to stay aligned with their originally corresponding weekending date as that weekending date shifts based on =today(). It would also have to subsequently overwrite the cell value of the least recent week that would then fall off.

I hope my question wasn't as confusing as it seemed it was trying to word it.

Re: Shifting cell values based on date

    Hi, welcome to the forum

Not sure I am reading correctly, but just so you know, Conditional Formatting is a cosmetic visual appearance to a cell, it does not affect the contents of a cell at all. Also, no formula can "overwrite" the data/value of another cell, they only affect the cell they are in.

I suggest that you upload a (clean) sample workbook, showing what you have, and what you want
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Shifting cell values based on date

Here is an example of what I am trying to do.

    1.JPG

Say on a given week I have a table that looks similar to the above example.

w/e 01/15 & 01/08 will automatically shift right based on the formula =L2-WEEKDAY(L2+1) at the end of the next week.

What I want is for the c's and x's underneath those heading to shift with them, as shown below.

I hope this provides some clarification.

You might take advantage of the freeze panes feature on the view tab to "scroll" columns off/on of the screen while keeping your titles in sight. I would point out that there are 16,800+ columns and 52 weeks in a year, so whatever you are documenting with the c's and x's you would be able to do so for over 323 years. That means you don't have to conserve blank columns if that is the reasoning behind wanting ant the least recent week to fall off. Sorry not to be of more help, but let me know if is anything with which I might assist.

Are they entries, or from a formula? If entries, then apart from VBA, I see no formula-way to make them move
