    Conditional Formatting

Row A will have a drop-down list from which a person will choose. Depending on the choice, certain cells within that row with turn grey, and not able to be edited. So far, I have twenty (20) columns that will be used. Does anybody know is that even possible to do, or am I too ambitious?

you can use validation to control the editing

So what will be in the drop down list and what would be the rules for each column ?

Validation can be defeated by copying/pasting/dragging.

Depending on how rigid they want the "do not edit" rule this may require a VBA solution.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Something like this: SZDFASDFASDFASDFASDFASDF.xlsx If, from the drop-down list, A is selected, the following cells would be gray and no data could be entered. The same goes for the others. It is very basic, but I think if someone could show me how to do that, then I could expand and apply it to my worksheet. Is it possible?
