How to sort corresponding cell data in a worksheet when cell reference is used?

    Hi

I have for example 3 worksheets in a workbook. I attached a simple workbook to illustrate the problem, and will later need to expand into a more complicated list in another workbook.

    1) Sales (columns are: Category, Name, SKU, Units Sold, Sales Revenue. The first three column linked to the columns in "Inventory")

    2) Cost (columns are: Category, Name, SKU, Cost of Each. The first three column linked to the columns in "Inventory")

    2) Inventory (columns are: Category, Name, SKU)

When i do a sort in "Inventory"'s Name, the sequence of values display in other 2 worksheets will automatic update (which is ok).

However, the other independent values that are entered in columns "Units Sold", "Sales Revenue", "Cost of Each" is not automatically sort according to the new sort in "Inventory".

How do I make Worksheet Sales and Cost ("Units Sold", "Sales Revenue", "Cost of Each" )values sort accordingly to the "Name" when "Name" is sorted in "Inventory"?

    Thanks.

You can't: the other fields sort because they reference data in "Inventory list".

I would put the Cost data in "Inventory" list as there is no obvious reason why it should be in a separate tab.

Why sort on Inventory List when you could just as easily sort on NAME in Sales?

    hi,

this is just an reduced example.

In my original file, there is many worksheets sorted out by monthly inventory, monthly sales, monthly cost (product cost vary according to batch) and cost of goods sold.

We will pull data from a "master inventory". Each worksheet has a different purpose, and saturated with columns up to "BT" so they are sorted according to purpose.

I wanted to check if can be resolved because when someone else sort "Master inventory" workbook, it will mess up and match wrongly to all the other datas. There would be additional problems if data not linked by rows, when addition data are entered into the "master inventory".
