    Duplicating cell entries

Hello. Sorry if the title may be misleading. Couldn't properly formulate my question. Well, basically I have a list of data in one column and I need every row of it to be duplicated exact number of times (6 actually). So, I got A1 - X, A2 - Y, A3 - Z and so on, and I need it to look like this: A1 - X, A2 - X, ....A6 - X, A7 - Y,....,A12 - Y, A13 - Z,.....,A18 - Z.... I hope you get the idea. Problem is that manually it's a lot of work to do having in mind that the data column has couple of thousands of rows. I would really appreciate if you guys could help me on this. Thank you in advance.

    In B1 write formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    and copy it down

Later on copy all column B, and paste special as values
    Best Regards,

    Kaper

    Re: Duplicating cell entries

    Hi,

Let's discuss here (then somebody else could also benefit from it).

    1) make sure cell has general format (Ctrl+1) numbers tab, General
    2) enter the formula
    3) copy it down as needed. for instance, if you have 200 values in column A, select cell B1 (with formula): Press Ctrl+C, Press Ctrl+G and write B1:B1200 and press OK. Press Ctrl+V
    4) Copy whole this range B1:B1200 (It shall be still selected. If not select it manyally or with Ctrl+G as above) and press Ctrl+C
    5) Paste special as values (press Ctrl+Alt+V and select values)

in B1:B1200 you shall have values now, so you can delete or clear contents of column A
