input and result of formula in the same cell

I'm wondering, is it possible to have the result of the formula in the same cell where you entered the value?

A formula can't reference itself. It's a circular reference and can't be done. You could do it with vba.

For example enter 5 into A1, run the macro and it could return "you entered 5 and your answer is 30" but you can't do it with excel formulas
