Formula and Calculation Help

Hello everyone,

I am having issues creating a formula and even calculation on a project I am working on.

What I would like to accomplish is:

Calculate the amount needed to achieve a 35% goal.

Example: Total $ Sold = $100,000.00, Items Sold with Additional Product = $20,000.00. How much Additional Product would I need to sell to achieve a 35% goal? Since it is not $15,000.00 because the $15,000.00 would increase the total amount $115,000.00 equaling only 30.43%. The actual amount needed would be closer to $23,000.00 additional needed to be $43,000 divided by $123,000 = 34.96%

With the increasing variable total amount sold it is giving me issues on how to calculate and enter this into a formula into Excel.

Any help with figuring this out?

Trying to have 35% of total items sold with an extra protected dollars.

For example:

Customer 1 = $20,000 sold, $20,000 protected dollar
Customer 2 = $20,000 sold, $0 protected
Customer 3 = $60,000 sold, $0 protected

Totals = $100,000 sold, $20,000 protected = 20%

Goal = 35%.

How much would this sales rep need to sell to achieve a 35% goal?

I tried that and came up with $10,769.23, which would still be short.

So the rough estimate would be $23,000 sold, $23,000 protected which would then make my totals $123,000 sold, $43,000 protected.

That does calculate what the total protected would be, I just added the additional -20000 at the end and it worked. Thank you!

A1=Total sales (100,000)

B1=Additional Product (20,000)

C1 = 0.35 (35% goal)

formula for Additional product required: =(A1*C1-B1)/(1-C1) (23076 based on your date)
