    Dynamically Change Formula

    Hello all,

I have a workbook made up of several sheets, all identical, that have performance data for each half term. I was planning to set up a worksheet with different charts on it but would like to only do this once. My idea is that I will have the "datasheet" if you like that has formulas on like =Autumn1!a1 - is it possible to change all the sheet names in all the formulas using a drop down box or something. So, if I wanted to look at Autumn2 I could select this and all the formulas now look at Autumn2, or Spring1 etc etc.

Hope that makes sense. Thank you.

The INDIRECT formula is what you are looking for.

Be warned if you have a lot of them it slows down the file as the formula is volatile. This means anytime you do anything it calculates EACH TIME for EACH CELL.

Wow - that easy! Thank you so much. It's frustrating when you know what you want to achieve but do not know the correct terminology making searching on Google nearly impossible. That's exactly what makes these forums invaluable!

Thanks again MikeTRON for a prompt solution!
