    How to use offset properly

Hi, I'm trying to make a formula where I can skip rows and columns. In the picture you can see the formula I'm trying to use, which is summing 7 consecutive cells and dividing by 50, then copying the formula over 1 and summing the next consecutive 7 cells and dividing by 50, doing that through 28 cells, then bringing the formula down to containers 2.1-2.4, and running the same formula for 6 cells below for the next empty shells row. Any idea on how to do this?Screen Shot 2016-07-14 at 1.24.05 PM.png

An image is impossible to work from.

Attach a sample workbook instead. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Re: How to use offset properly

    Hi,

I would recommend using INDEX rather than OFFSET for this. I have attached an example workbook which has an additional row and column to store the row and column references required for the index formulas. You can hide these for display purposes.
