Countif for first 5 digits and avoiding the duplicate

    Hello Friends

Please find the attached file (Countif for first 5 digits and avoiding the duplicate.xlsx)

In the input cell D2 / D3 if we are inputting the first 5 digits then the formula should count by ignoring the duplicate.

That means the repeated duplicated items are counted as one in light yellow cells by formula.

    thanks in advance.
    Sekar

Are you expecting to use the helper column you've added in B?

    Hello zbor

Thanks your formula. I just changed the $A$30 to $A$1000 and started using your formula.

    thanks again
