Keeping cells blank if no data entered in trigger cell

I have a simple question. I have a timeline that is triggered by an original date cell. The formula works well, but when I don't have a date filled in, the triggered cells still show dates, and I want them to remain blank but with the formula intact (i.e. hidden unless an entry has been made to the first cell). Any ideas?

=IF(A1="","",your formula here)
