Reference Another Workbook to Grab UPC Based on Part Number

I am looking to reference a workbook that has a list of items in it with various bits of data. I am looking for a formula that references that workbook and fills in the UPC code based on the associated part number.

For Example: I enter part number ABC123 in to my workbook. The formula references "UPC Codes.xls," finds part ABC123, and fills in the UPC Code one column over from the part number I entered. The Part Number and UPC are one column apart in both workbooks.

Thanks for any and all help.

The following formula assumes that you have a tab titled, "Parts" on your UPC Codes worksheet. It also assumes the UPC Code column is column A, with Part #s in Column B. It further assumes that you are entering it on your workbook in cell B2, with A2 being where you would enter your UPC Code.

You should be able to copy down as needed.

    Does that work?

I thought I could manipulate it, but I was mistaken. I am entering in the part numbers in to column F and am hoping to get the UPCs to go in to column G. The UPC Code workbook has the part number in column A and the UPC in column B. I really appreciate the help.

Can you enter the above into column G? If it doesn't work...a small sample would really help to narrow down the problem.
