    Vlook up/bump up

    Hello!

My boss wants me to BUMP UP these 2 spreadsheets and I have no idea what she means. Please help!!! And now, I apparently need help attaching the files.

The paperclip function isn't working for me.

I have 2 spreadsheet with names that I need to "compare". they are both in the same format and in the same columns on each spreadsheet. I am using 2010. Below is a sample of what they look like.

    Hi -

The paper clip thing doesn't work. You have to push the "Go Advanced" button and then scroll down to the highlighted text "Manage Attachments" which brings up a page that allows you to attach files.

I'm not sure what your boss means by "Bump Up". You may need to get some clarification. Also, what are you comparing your lists for? Names on one list that aren't on the other? Names that are on both lists? What?

    hi.

BUMP UP meaning she wants the names that are NOT on both lists.

    Hi -

Can you post your spreadsheets so we don't have to retype in a bunch of data?

    Thanks,

Data is now in one file. I have taken the fastest path to this which results in two different lists. Each list identifies the names on that sheet that are not found in the other sheet, so you have to look at both.

    Re: Vlook up/bump up

You can't just cut and paste because the formula has the sheet name coded into it. But you can paste then update the sheet name. It's a combination of formula + autofilter.
Note that the formula is an array formula....confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. You can't just type in the braces, you have to hit CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
