Cool Compare column A and C then produce name in column D in column B...

    Hi,

This is my first post so apologies if my terminology is off...

I have attached dummy data as I am not allowed to show my 'real' data however, the same rules apply.
I need column A and C to be compared, if the value of column A is found in column C then whatever the name is next to the value in column C needs to be reproduced in column B.
For example, in the attached data number 1 is found in column A and C so I need the name 'Andrew' in column D to be replicated in column B next to number 1 in column A.
Another example, number 3 is in both column A and B so I need the name 'Colin' to be produced in B5.

Thank you in advance if anyone can help!

    Liam

    that's my usual mistake.

    =VLOOKUP(A2,$C$2:$D$16,2,FALSE)

    will do that for you....

    Hi Glenn,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

That worked, I knew it would be a VLOOKUP but was unsure of the set up.

    Thanks!
